The Snowsports Industries America (SIA) Snow Show in Denver, Colorado, is the largest gathering of the winter sports industry. Mr. Luxury Ski reports from the show floor for the scoop on NEXT winter's hottest gear.

Mr. Luxury Ski

Advancements in tech fabrics and insulators have shifted the role of the traditional ski sweater from the slopes to the après-scene, a trend Mr. Luxury Ski embraces and embodies. So our interest was piqued when Scandinavian stalwart Dale of Norway introduced its new Viking Collection of wool sweaters and jackets inspired by the nation’s alpine race team and Viking folklore.

The Viking Sweater keeps it rugged and classy with gray hues and traditional runic symbols for protection and success knitted into the skinsoft superfine Merino wool. It looks suave to leave an impression at the bar, but it’s also engineered to be warm and wicking so you can wear it as a base layer or next-to-skin sweater on the slopes or in a Game of Thrones battle on the heath.

Dale of Norway has outfitted the Norwegian Alpine Ski Team since 1956.

When the Norwegian team, including stud Aksel Lund Svindal (above lower left with the shield) hit the 2017 World Alpine Championships they’ll be clad in the Viking Jacket. This lightweight wool piece also incorporates Viking symbols in the knit, and adds cable knit long sleeves with thumbholes. For on-mountain performance upgrade to the new Kintshell Jacket. The innovative fabric adds water and stain repelling wool laminated with a breathable windproof liner.
