Mr. Luxury Ski
This haunt in a historic redbrick railroad building in downtown Ketchum is the spot to saunter into après spa treatment. In fact, CBG doesn’t open until five, so your ski boots will look quite silly.
Put on your best apres-ski sweater and pop in for cocktails and small plates at the handsome bar with a Prohibition vibe. Start it off saucy with the Hot Pedro and give the barkeep a wink; that Serrano tequila kick ain’t easy to come by in this neck of the woods thanks to an archaic Idaho state law outlawing infused liquors, barrel-aged cocktails or house-made cordials.
Fire up another round of Hot Pedros or mellow out with the Bourbon Bramble mixing in local wild berry preserves. The vodka gimlet also takes it down a notch with soothing lavender. Chef Doug Jensen’s “mountain eclectic” fare ranges from local meats and fish to fresh seafood. Pair that Hot Pedro with the house made Idaho potato chips with rich caramelized onion dip and then hit the breath mints, or check-in on the oysters of the day washed down with something bubbly. Fancy dinner? Get a booth for entrees including wild salmon with lobster Pernod sauce and a maple braised pork osso bucco over polenta.
